As men we dont listen,
because we always know best,
thats why we have power tools,
drink beer,
and have hairy chests,

Emotions are things,
we'll just leave,
to you females,
so you can think about them,
while looking for shoes
and shopping in sales.

Not the best poem in the world, but I'm tired, so I'll do better tomorrow, lol

Most of us have been there, that point in a relationship, when its time to profess your love for each other. You've been through the dating stage, maybe met the friends or even the parents, who cracks first? who says those three little words?

Well in my experience it can be either party, but most of the time, it is the girl who puts herself out there on a limb and says it. For the most part, if a man says it first, he either, really really does mean it (which is great!) or he says it by accident. I know that may sound harsh, but its true, sometimes, for no apparent reason, it just.. slips out, we dont know why, it just does.

The problem is.. we see the word 'love' as a very casual word, some men 'love' football, some men 'love' beer etc, it just sits there as another word in the vocabulary. Thats not to say that if a man says he loves you he doesnt mean it, but maybe some caution is required as he may also 'love' many other things.

I'll will be the first to admit, that Ive told a girl I love her, not because I knew she was 'the one', but purely because I liked being around her and got on well with her. We just use the word 'love' in a different way.

Our use of the word 'love' changes through a relationship. At the start it can be just as above, that we like being around someone, but as the relationship grows, so our feelings being the word 'love' do too. You can imagine a couple in their 60's who truly do love each other, they are companions, deeply in love, their love has grown and so with it, the mans feelings behind his love.

As a word of warning, not all men function as per this recipe, but it is a good guide, just give a man some time and his love will change and grow, but dont be waiting on the edge of your seat for him to burst out and sing his love for you, those men are few and far between, when you do find one, hold on to him, he is a rarity.

What do we think when we hear something? How do we feel?

When women ask us do we love them? do we say yes? but what are we actually saying and thinking inside?

Hopefully this blog will serve as a point for placing my random musings on what goes on inside a mans head on a daily basis, in the vain hope that it may educate some women in the ways of 'the man' or serve as a dealing with men survival guide. It may also serve as a survival guide for blokes on how to deal with stressful situations in our daily lives
